BESS Class 1 (Houses & Townhouses) - BESS Release 2

The Built Environment Sustainability Scorecard (BESS) is an online sustainability assessment tool used within the Victorian planning system. BESS is available at bess.net.au.

This course uses a case study approach to help you learn how to use BESS with a focus on houses and townhouses. It is suitable for planning permit applicants, ESD consultants and council officers who either prepare or assess BESS reports for development applications. 

On successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to undertake the BESS Advanced course. 

Also available is the BESS Training Package, which includes both the BESS Class 1 and BESS Advanced courses. 

You have 90 days of access to the course materials.
